Early voting for the election got underway yesterday (Wednesday) with David Cunliffe making history as the first Labour leader to cast an advance vote.
The morning after the second leaders' debate, David was among the first to vote in New Zealand - casting a special vote at the early polling station in Riccarton Street.
"I voted early today, 17 days before the election. Will you be voting early for a better New Zealand?" said David - before hitting the campaign trail again.
David was among the first of many Labour voters who are taking the opportunity to vote early. Almost 300 early voting places are now available around the country with times and opening hours varying to suit local needs.
