Minister investigates potential new school site in Temple View.

Education Minister Chris Carter recently visited Koromatua Primary School, a rural school of 280 students at the invitation of Hamilton West MP Martin Gallagher and also Nanaia Mahuta MP. Presently around 96% of students attending Koromatua School live in the Temple View community but either walk the 3km to school along country roads or travel by car. The Board of Trustees has indicated that the current situation poses a number of safety and security issues for students which need to be addressed. A possible solution is the relocation of the school to a Temple View site.
Following a public meeting at which overwhelming support for the measure was expressed by the local community, Minister Carter, Martin Gallagher, MP for Hamilton West, and Jacinda Ardern, Waikato parliamentary candidate, visited proposed sites in Temple View. Local MP Martin Gallagher is encouraging all the people of the Waikato to get out and experience New Zealand’s amazing wildlife as part of Conservation Week 2008.
