Ngati Manawa sign Agreement in Principle

"Today is a major achievement for Ngati Manawa and they should be proud of their tenacity and patience" said Associate Minister of Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations Mita Ririnui.

Associate Minister of Health Mita Ririnui announced the winners and runners-up in the 2008 Whanau Ora Awards this evening at the Awards dinner at the Wellington Town Hall, Wellington.
The awards dinner concluded a day acknowledging and celebrating the achievements of fifteen Maori health and disability service providers from throughout Aotearoa.

Te Arawa and Raukawa sign agreement for co-management of the Waikato River

"I am pleased to see that the Crown has finally reached a co-management agreement with three iwi who have interests in the Waikato River" said Associate Minister of Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations Mita Ririnui at the signing between the Crown, Te Arawa and Raukawa.
The signing held today in Parliament buildings is an agreement between Te Arawa and Raukawa to participate in the co-management of the Waikato River.
