Barnett withdraws from politics
19.02.2008
Christchurch Central MP Tim Barnett has announced he will not stand as a candidate for any seat in the general election.
Barnett said "when I announced my departure from Christchurch Central, I left open the possibility of a list nomination. Many have encouraged me to pursue that, however, there are exciting horizons for me beyond Parliament and I am keen to explore them."
"I have represented Christchurch Central to the best of my ability," he said.
