Register your dog and be a safe owner

"It's a time of year when dog owners should register their dog and that's a good time to take stock of your dog and its environment," Local Government Minister Nanaia Mahuta said today.

Nanaia Mahuta is urging dog owners to register their pets before 1 July.

Local Government Minister and Tainui MP Nanaia Mahuta says it is not too late for people to apply for a rates rebate for this year.

"Applications for this financial year have to be received by local councils by 30 June, so eligible households still have three weeks to apply," Nanaia Mahuta said.
