John Key dismisses Family Friendly Policies
09.09.2008
"John Key changed his story regarding the Families Commission today," said Ruth Dyson Minister for Social Development and Employment.
"In a new interview he stated that he would 'rebalance the commission' (whatever that means) and further stated that 'some of the advocacy undertaken by the Families Commission was unnecessary'," said Ruth Dyson.
"The commission advocates on behalf of families in areas which have been identified as important to New Zealand families.
This includes:
- Paid Parental Leave,
- Valuing Parenting and
- the 'It's Not Ok Campaign' against family violence.
"Which one of these is not important Mr Key?" said Ruth Dyson.
