National already breaking promises on climate change

National leader John Key's u-turn on the Emissions Trading Scheme is his first broken promise, the outgoing Minister for Climate Change Issues David Parker said today.

Protecting our native heritage for all

Conservation Minister Steve Chadwick today released Labour's conservation policy and confirmed the Party's commitment to protecting New Zealand's natural environment for all New Zealanders.
"Labour has a proud history of protecting our native heritage. Over the last nine years we have made major conservation gains including opening nine public conservation parks and nearly doubling the number of marine reserves," Steve Chadwick said.

"National Leader John Key must show the public his planned Resource Management reform bill so voters can see how they would be cut out of consultation on projects under a National-Act government," Labour's environment spokesman Trevor Mallard said today.
"Mr Key has told reporters that he would introduce a bill amending the RMA before Christmas, as well as bills on law and order and tax."
