New Zealanders deserve a mental health system that works. That's why we have announced a new frontline service that will put trained mental health workers in GP clinics, medical centres and iwi health providers around the country, and extend support to people with mild and moderate needs, instead of waiting until issues reach a crisis point.
The system won’t be fixed overnight, but by taking mental health seriously, we're helping more people get the support they need, when and where they need it.
Together, we can shine a light on the mental health crisis in New Zealand, and let those facing mental health challenges know we support them.
