When will the Annual Conference 2019 start and finish?
The conference starts officially on Friday 29 November at 6pm and finishes on Sunday 1 December around 3pm. Our sector and policy day will take place on Friday 29 November. All sector meeting rooms are located in or within 250m of our Conference venue.
Where will the Annual Conference 2019 take place?
Our 2019 Annual Conference will be held at:
The Whanganui War Memorial Centre
Watt Street
Whanganui 4500
The Leader's Speech on Sunday will be held at the Royal Wanganui Opera House, 69 Saint Hill Street.
How do I get to the conference venue?
The Whanganui War Memorial Conference Centre is a 9 minute drive from the Whanganui airport or an hour from Palmerston North.
The Party has arranged shuttles for Labour Party Conference delegates from Palmerston North airport to your accommodation in Whanganui on Thursday 28 November and Friday 29 November and return shuttles to Palmerston North Airport on Sunday 1 December.
Departures from Palmerston North airport will be arranged to coincide with flight times that are arriving close to each other - the intention is not to have delegates waiting for more than an hour once they have collected their luggage.
If you are driving to Whanganui, note that the War Memorial Conference Centre is just off State Highway 4. You need to cross the Whanganui City Bridge, turn right on Taupo Quay then turn left on Drews Avenue and following the road onto Watt Street and the venue will be on your right. There will be limited parking available on the venue's forecourt, so get in early!
I’m looking for a hotel close to the conference venue. Do you have any accommodation deals?
