Corie Haddock is “a working class boy from Taranaki”. A former welder, who went on to study mental health at university, he’s a manager with the Lifewise trust, a community organisation which initiates new ways to solve challenging social issues and provides services to families in need, the homeless and disabled people.

Everyone deserves a chance


My mum left school at 15 to help look after her baby twin sister and brother and then became a cleaner and KFC worker.  Dad left school at 16 and worked at West-plains Abbatoir.  Both left school with no qualifications.  They now both work together at the freezing works.

Union and Labour values are in my DNA.

Hoardings 101


Over two days, my whanau, supporters and I undertook an epic mission to erect our election hoardings and corflutes from Muriwai, south of Gisborne up to Te Araroa, at the north of the Ikaroa-Rāwhiti electorate. A round trip of 400 kilometres, with vehicles people and resources in toe. As we moved through the East Coast, new conversations were initiated and old friendships rekindled.
