From the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, our Government has committed to providing calm, clear, and consistent communication, including regular press conference updates from the Prime Minister. While New Zealand is at Alert Level 3, we're making sure that New Zealanders are kept informed and up-to-date with all the latest developments of the Government's COVID-19 response. 

Our first week at Alert Level Three saw thousands of New Zealanders returning to work. Many of New Zealand's critical infrastructure projects were kicked back into gear, such as the Auckland City Rail Link. Alert Level Three gives us the opportunity to reboot our economy while continuing to stay on top of the virus.

As we head into ANZAC weekend, we are also heading into the final weekend of Alert Level 4 lockdown.

Over the past week, we have seen a downward trend in the daily number of positive COVID-19 cases. This is entirely due to the sacrifices of New Zealanders, who have shown incredible discipline in staying home to break the chain of the virus and save lives. 

When Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern launched the #NZEggHunt, who could have expected such an eggcellent response, with Kiwis across the country hopping straight into action...

While New Zealand is at Alert Level 4, we're making sure that New Zealanders are kept informed and up to date with all the latest developments of the Government's COVID-19 response. It's been a shortened week because of Easter, so we're bringing you our weekly wrap a day early.

Earlier this week, the Prime Minister informed the nation that the Easter Bunny (and the Tooth Fairy!) were deemed essential workers. However, she made it clear that, due to the restrictions we are all facing at COVID-19 Alert Level 4, the Easter Bunny may find it tricky to get to every house in New Zealand this Easter.

Not one to rest on her laurels, our Prime Minister had a plan - but for the plan to work, she needed all the kids of New Zealand to help...
