Meet Guy Wishart
A society where families are struggling to stay financially afloat is not one we should tolerate or aspire to.
Guy Wishart, a Kumeu local who is a Rodney Local Board member, award winning musician, science teacher and qualified horticultural consultant, has been selected as the Labour Party candidate for the Kaipara ki Mahurangi electorate. Guy’s election pledge is to work on better infrastructure for an electorate that has seen new urban housing developments without the corresponding infrastructure such as roads, transport, and flood protection that has been needed to make this a great place to live. As Rodney Local Board member, Huapai-Kumeu Lions member, active in the local emergency network and Kumeū Community Action, he has as a local, the first hand experience in understanding what is needed to redress this imbalance. He says other parties talk about developing greenfield sites in our electorate, but a failure to spend on local infrastructure, particularly transport, has already led to a deep sense of frustration for the residents of Kaipara ki Mahurangi. Guy is seeking election to build on the lasting local initiatives of the only current MP living in the region, Labour list MP Marja Lubeck, who retires at this election.
