Labour’s hearts and thoughts with Orlando

The Labour Party expresses its heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the people of Orlando for the mass shooting that has left at least 50 of its residents dead and a further 53 injured.

“As a party that has championed equal rights and marriage equality, Labour utterly condemns this attack,” Leader of the Opposition Andrew Little says.

“Such a horrific hate crime has left people around the world feeling despair and outrage.

“We also pay tribute to the brave emergency services personnel that rushed in to help the victims with little regard to their own safety, and the police officer injured doing his job.

“Our hearts and thoughts go to all the victims, the injured and their family and friends who will help them on the long road to recovery from such a brutal tragedy,” Andrew Little says.
