East Auckland has been Nerissa’s home for over 30 years. She loves living there, and seeing her children grow up and go to school in such a vibrant and diverse community.
Nerissa is currently serving a second term as an elected member of the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board. Nerissa is also serving a second term on the Mt Wellington Licensing Trust. These roles gives her insights into the needs and concerns of East Aucklanders. She sits on the AMETI Eastern Busway Project, the Business Association and the Tāmaki Estuary Environmental Forum.Read more
Nerissa’s experience includes leading community initiatives centred around health and wellbeing through a environmental, waste reduction, and financial literacy lens. She’s also involved in helping to grow leadership within our youth and providing them pathways, connections and opportunities.
As the MP for Pakuranga, Nerissa would use her experience of grassroots work to make progress on the issues that matter most for this community. She understands the need for job security, reliable transport, a clean and healthy environment, safe neighbourhoods, quality education, disability and accessibility services, and good health and wellbeing for all.
