  • Appearance on the Today Show

Our PM started the day with a brief appearance on the Today Show, where she was quizzed about the impact her new role as mother has had on her leadership as Prime Minister - look out for the mention of our Families Package extended paid parental leave!

  • Keynote speaker at opening of Climate Week NYC

Her speech highlighted the importance of New Zealand's responsibility to our vulnerable Pacific neighbours in the face of climate change, and included an announcement of a siginificant funding boost in aid to the Pacific to help them deal with climate change challenges.

  • Spoke at Nelson Mandela Peace Summit

Ardern used the opportunity to highlight the impact Nelson Mandela had on New Zealand and the work still left to do to create the peaceful, prosperous, democratic, fair and inclusive world that Mandela strived for. Ardern was joined by her partner Clarke Gayford and baby Neve on the UN General Assembly floor.
