Meet Fleur Fitzsimons
Labour looked after my family when times were tough and I know that it is Labour who will ensure low income people are looked after.
I live in Island Bay, am a mum of four and have lived in Wellington for 26 years.
I have been a trade union official, a union lawyer and a Wellington City Councillor. I have advocated for and represented low income workers and campaigned for better public services.
Labour looked after my family when times were tough and I know that it is Labour who will ensure low income people are supported in dealing with the challenge and costs of climate change and the increased cost of living.
I am Labour because I know that Labour is the Party that will ensure all New Zealanders have access to health, education and jobs that pay fairly. I am Labour because it is the Party for the many, not the few.
Being an effective local representative is important to me. Our democracy has been under attack from bad faith actors. Now, more than ever, we need representatives who will work for people no matter their background or politics, every interaction with people is an opportunity to build trust in democracy. This is what I have done as a City Councillor and it is what I would do if I am honored with your support to be the Member of Parliament for Rongotai.
