Meet Glen Bennett
New Plymouth is an amazing place and I want to give New Plymouth people the best opportunity to meet their potential and their aspirations.
With experience spanning business enterprise, restorative justice, community development and youth support, Glen was motivated to stand for Parliament by Labour’s focus on secure housing, fair incomes, high quality education, decent healthcare, and action on climate change.
Since his election to Parliament in 2020 as the MP for New Plymouth Glen has gained the roles of deputy chair of the Economic Development, Science and Innovation Select Committee, deputy chair of the Social Services and Community, and a member of the Finance and Expenditure Select Committee.
An accessible and visible MP, Glen has continued to build relationships throughout the New Plymouth community, working to help local people reach their aspirations, and championing this region and its needs in Wellington.
Committed to ensuring all members of this community feel they belong, can actively participate, and can reach their full potential, Glen is seeking another term as New Plymouth’s MP so he can continue to work to achieve this.
