Meet Pare Taikato
I'm wholeheartedly committed to the prosperity and wellbeing of the Bay and its people. I’ll be a strong advocate and voice for our electorate in Parliament.
Pare is Bay of Plenty born and bred, from the heartland of her Tauranga Moana iwi. Pare lives on ancestral lands with her whānau. Now she’s in several key leadership roles heading the strategic direction of a number of high value horticulture businesses.
As a Tauranga Girls College student, Pare worked picking kiwifruit for the business that she is now a strategic Governor of. With support from the same business, Pare graduated Waikato University in 1999 with a Master’s in Social Science then spent 4 years living in Japan as an ESL Teacher.
Pare has diverse workforce background in aviation hospitality, creativity, education, stevedoring and parliamentary service over 20 years.
As a business leader Pare heads businesses whose mission is to ensure inter-generational prosperity. Pare believes prosperity should be accessible for everyone with the right support and investment from government. Pare will be a strong regional advocate and voice for this kaupapa as the MP for Bay of Plenty.
