Meet Steph Lewis

I am focused on the bread and butter issues that matter to people in Whanganui, South Taranaki, and Stratford.

I live in Whanganui with my husband and two children. I was born in Whanganui and grew up between the prison village, where my father was a Prison Officer, and my family's farm in Waverley.

I've spent my career resolving disputes; working as an employment advocate, a lawyer, an advisor, and an investigator. Since becoming MP for Whanganui, South Taranaki, and Stratford in 2020, I've worked hard advocating for more support for the cost of living, to improve our roads, to build more houses, for better healthcare, education, and to secure funding for infrastructure projects across Whanganui, South Taranaki, and Stratford. I've also passed a private member's bill to strengthen our biosecurity protections, and I'm the Chair of Parliament's Primary Production Select Committee and Labour's Rural Caucus.

I am standing this election to ensure our community continues to have an MP focused on the bread and butter issues that matter.
