The past few years have been incredibly tough for Wellington. A declining economy, poor council governance and major public sector layoffs have set the scene while council reels with the bill from decades of underinvestment.

Passed the Johnsonville Mall Notice of Motion
Secured $13.2m of funding for the upgrade of Grenada North Park
Stopped the rollout of suburban paid parking in Johnsonville, Tawa and Newlands
Kept children’s swimming pool entry at $4 for the 2025/26 FY
Stopped the sale of council’s stake in Wellington International Airport
Worked with central government to change dysfunctional heritage building laws
