Matthew Reweti
Candidate for Te Whanganui-a-Tara Ward on Wellington City Council
Meet Matthew Reweti
Tautokohia te mana whenua nā rātou te whenua, mā rātou hoki te kōrero.
I’m standing for Wellington City Council to represent you in the Māori Ward.
My tūpuna lived at Pipitea Pā, before the Treaty and European settlement. Today, I serve as Deputy Chair of Te Ātiawa Fisheries Trust and with other rōpū hapori. Ake, ake, ake!
My focus is on a city that works for its people. I believe in a city that honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi, keeps Māori Wards, pays a Living Wage, builds affordable housing and protects our public services.
I’ll bring fresh ideas and a strong voice for Māori on Council. Let’s protect what’s ours and build what’s needed, together.
