Release: National arguing with itself over house prices
Yet another National minister has contradicted the Prime Minister on house prices today.
“First we had Chris Bishop at odds with Christopher Luxon on whether house prices should go up or down, now another National voice has entered the fray,” Labour finance spokesperson Barbara Edmonds said.
“Today Nicola Willis has backed Bishop and not Luxon, causing even more confusion about what National’s position is on the housing market.
“The Prime Minister wants to make houses more expensive for Kiwis and is hellbent on bringing foreign buyers back to buy up housing stock to push prices up even further.
“Christopher Luxon also insists his government has built thousands of public houses when his colleague Chris Bishop says they have only built 45.
“When the Finance Minister and Housing Minister are disagreeing with the Prime Minister it’s difficult to know who is in charge,” Barbara Edmonds said.
