Ashleigh Latimer

Candidate for Northland

Meet Ashleigh Latimer

"Northland together – our home, our future.

Ashleigh Latimer is Labour’s candidate for Northland, bringing a lifetime of lived experience, leadership, and commitment to her community.

Born and raised in Northland, Ashleigh understands what it means to work hard for whānau and community. Now back living rurally, she balances the realities of work, community need, and everyday life giving her a grounded understanding of the pressures and strengths that shape Northland.

With more than 25 years’ experience across health and social services, Ashleigh has worked alongside iwi, providers, and local communities to improve access to services and deliver better outcomes. She is experienced in navigating complex systems and advocating for those whose voices are too often unheard.

Ashleigh is standing for Northland because she believes the region deserves leadership that is present, practical, and deeply connected to its people. She understands the challenges facing rural communities from distance and cost to access and opportunity and the resilience that exists across whānau, businesses, and communities.

Her focus is simple: to be a strong, visible advocate for Northland. She is committed to backing families, supporting local economies, and improving access to essential services so that Northlanders can thrive.

Ashleigh is someone who has lived the realities many in Northland face and is ready to represent her community with honesty, strength, and commitment.
