I was born and raised in Christchurch and - with my wife and our little girl - I’d be proud to serve my home. I’m standing because I believe our city deserves energetic, practical leadership focused on the issues that shape everyday life.

I’ve spent my career solving problems - from climate and energy challenges at the United Nations, to representing New Zealand overseas as a diplomat, to helping grow a Kiwi small business as co-owner of Mr Whippy New Zealand. I know how to bring people together, get things done, and stand up for New Zealanders.

But the biggest challenges facing Christchurch are local and immediate. Our city rebuilt itself through resilience, hard work, and belief in the future, and we can't take that progress for granted. Too many families are struggling with the cost of living or can't find an affordable home or timely healthcare. Too many young New Zealanders feel they have to leave for Australia just to get ahead. Christchurch needs strong advocates in Wellington who will fight for the investment our city needs to keep growing and thriving.

I'm standing for Labour because I believe politics should improve people's lives in practical ways: bringing down the cost of living, building more affordable homes, strengthening healthcare, creating decent jobs, and taking real action on climate resilience and infrastructure.

Christchurch is a city of huge potential - creative, resilient, ambitious, and caring. I want to help build a future where people can afford to stay, raise their families, and feel optimistic about the future they choose.
