"Tāmaki needs a listener, a problem-solver, and someone who can hold together the entire community as it comes under strain from this government.”
I'm a lawyer, campaigner, and writer - I've dedicated my career so far to standing up for working people, human rights, and solving people's problems, and I'll continue to do that for people across Tāmaki. I've been lucky to receive great educational opportunities. I was a New Zealand Rhodes Scholar, and completed postgraduate study at the University of Oxford. I've used that education to make a difference in people's lives, and I've had a successful legal career, appearing regularly in all courts, including the Supreme Court.
I have long-standing connections to the Tāmaki electorate. I worked with schools here when I went to university, I've done legal work here, and I've now opened a community office in Glen Innes. There's all of New Zealand in the Tāmaki electorate: beauty, pride, but also struggle, and inequality. It's a community that we need to hold together, and that deserves a visible, capable, proactive local MP. We also need to end the decline we've seen under this National-led government, which has damaged the economy and our social fabric.
I understand the economy, and I have the skills and local connections to relate to people across our community. I’ll be a voice for all of Tāmaki - and I’ll be a fresh face and sensible alternative to the politics of recent years, which has hurt and divided the community.
Residents across Tāmaki deserve a representative who brings hope and heart to the community. Vote Labour and vote Max Harris for Tāmaki!
