"Everyone in Ilam deserves good jobs, affordable homes, and quality healthcare. Right now, too many people are struggling with high housing costs, limited work, and long waits to see a doctor. That needs to change. We need to reduce inequality, so people can live well, not just get by.
I'm active in the Ilam community, having strong connections to the area through my parents and grandparents who lived here before I was born.
I had a diverse upbringing, living in rural, regional, and urban communities, including Karamea on the West Coast and just outside of Gisborne. I chose to move to Ilam as an adult and now call it my home.
I'm in my final year of a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Canterbury, and I balance my study with multiple jobs and volunteering on the side. I'm a filmmaker, a writer and former journalist, and I work in the arts.
I'm focused on tackling the uneven investment across the electorate's infrastructure, advocating for renters rights, enabling good jobs, accessible healthcare, and protecting our environment.
I was motivated to run for Parliament because successive right-wing politicians have let the Ilam community down. Ilam needs a strong, local, progressive voice focused on practical change.
Together, we can build a community where people can study, work, and live well.
