"Waiariki deserves a strong voice that turns advocacy into real outcomes - protecting our mana, protecting our future, and ensuring our mokopuna inherit more than what we have today.
He uri ahau nō ngā kāwai whakaheke o Ngai Tūhoe, Tamakaimoana, Ngāti Awa, Te Rarawa me Ngāti Kahu anō hoki.
I am standing for Waiariki because I see clearly what is at stake. Across our rohe, we are witnessing hard-won gains being rolled back, gains that were fought for by our leaders, our whānau, and our movements over generations. They were never freely given. We cannot allow our mokopuna to spend the next 50 years fighting to reclaim what we already have.
I know the realities our people face because I have lived them and worked alongside our communities every day. As a single mum, I understand the pressure of the cost of living. Through my work in social services, housing, and community development, I have seen firsthand the impact of cold homes, limited healthcare access, job insecurity, and systems that too often leave our people behind.
As a Māori Wards Councillor for Whakatāne District Council, I have already been doing the mahi, advocating for equitable representation, protecting our voices, and ensuring our communities are part of the decisions that shape our future. My advocacy is not just words. It is action, accountability, and outcomes.
As your MP, I will continue that advocacy with a relentless focus on delivering real change: warm, affordable homes, accessible healthcare, secure and meaningful jobs, and a government that honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi in both word and deed.
This campaign is about more than politics - it is about protection. Protecting our whenua. Protecting our taiao. Protecting our reo. Protecting our future. And doing so in a way that brings people together, united by the future we want to build for the next generation.
We are not just standing for today - we are standing for generations to come.
Together, we protect our mana. Together, we protect our future. Together, we will change this government.
