2020 has been a tough year. Not only has COVID-19 presented unique challenges to the way we work, play and socialise, for many Kiwis the pandemic has also meant more of a strain on the back pocket. 

Wondering who our new Labour MPs are? We asked our 23 new Caucus members to share a little about themselves and the experience they will be bringing to Parliament...

Today the Governor-General swore in the new Executive.

Today, Jacinda Ardern announced the new Ministers for our Labour Government.

New Zealanders gave us a strong mandate to recover and rebuild from COVID-19, and we have formed a strong team to deliver. We’re taking full advantage of the wealth of experience we have in our caucus, while also bringing in new talent with first hand experience in their portfolio areas.

As of today, over 1.4 million New Zealanders have already cast their votes in this year’s election. While this shows that a huge number of people have already made up their minds about who they want to lead our country, there are many who are still undecided.

The Labour Party understands how important continuity, stability and clarity are for New Zealanders in these uncertain times.

That’s why, in our 2020 Election Manifesto, we’re setting out how we will continue to invest in people, jobs, small businesses, infrastructure, and global trade, to set New Zealand up for the best COVID recovery possible.

We’ve been clear on our position when it comes to our tax policy, with the media widely picking that up and reporting that Jacinda has ruled out implementing a so-called ‘wealth tax’, yet Judith Collins’ continues to repeat the false claim.
