Lorna Johnson
Candidate for Palmerston North City Council
Meet Lorna Johnson
As Chair of the Community committee for the last six years I have been a strong supporter of the community sector including libraries, social housing and creating a welcoming community for all. Through my advocacy Council has committed to a fairer rating system, a Living Wage for staff and a new animal shelter.
I’m an accredited Resource Management Act commissioner, volunteer at the Esplanade Scenic Railway, and help resettle our refugee community.
I have a veterinary science background and I make evidence-based decisions. I have demonstrated my ability to work collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for the people of Palmerston North.
The future will be challenging, with government water reforms and changes to planning regulations. We need experience at the Council table, to ensure our city is looked after and that our community is put first.
Please re-elect me so I can continue to work for you.
