Day two of the campaign has arrived and Christopher Luxon is nowhere to be seen.

“Christopher Luxon’s dysfunctional Cabinet is in its dying days, and he’s spent two days now out of sight,” Labour Campaign chair Kieran McAnulty said.

“His own National MPs are rejecting his rushed supermarket announcement, his Cabinet Ministers are publicly shaming the Government’s LNG plan and his failing coalition is publicly disagreeing over its own agenda.

“Meanwhile his education minister is facing serious questions over political interference at the Ministry of Education, where her alleged meddling created a toxic working environment.

“Most of the country’s mayors are up in arms because he doesn’t have the guts to make the big calls on local government and doesn’t have the guts to front up about it either.

“New Zealanders have a lot of questions about this Government’s record. Christopher Luxon should answer them.

“He can’t spend the election campaign hiding from the mess his government has made.

“Out of sight out of mind isn’t much of a campaign strategy. Someone should probably let Christopher Luxon know the election campaign has started.

“This election is about the cost of living, and Christopher Luxon has nothing to say. Only Labour has a plan to invest in what matters so New Zealanders can build a future here at home,” Kieran McAnulty said.
