I’m passionate about public transport; my top priority is to make it cheaper, faster, and more reliable across the region.
Good public transport encourages better housing development and helps fight climate change through reducing emissions and easing congestion.
But the Coalition Government is demanding that the Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC) either makes big cuts to public transport or increases fares during a cost-of-living crisis.
More Labour councillors on GWRC means more voices speaking up to protect our buses and trains, to fight against fare hikes, and to improve our public transport network.
I’m asking for your support to be our second councillor in the Pōneke/Wellington constituency.
Wellington also faces big challenges when it comes to water infrastructure, cleaning up our parks and waterways, and climate change. If elected, I’ll work with councillors to agree on practical responses to all these issues while keeping rates as low as possible.
